Abstract
A clinical report and review, of literatures of malignant lymphoma of the lactating breast is presented. The incidence of breast sarcoma is 1.0 to 2.7% of all of the total neoplams of the mammary gland and the majority: of these are fibrosarcomas. The malignant lymphoma of the breast is a very rare neoplasm. These are classified as follows: lymphocytic lymphoma, reticulum cell type and Hodgkin¡¯s disease. These neoplasms may occur at any age, but usually among the younger patients. In pregnant and lactating patients, the malignant neoplasms have occurred at an average age of 29 and their prognoses have been very poor. The physical signs and symptoms produced by lymphosarcoma simulate those of carcinoma, but in some cases resemble those of -benign tumors. The malignant lymphoma spread easily to regional lymph nodes and they are frequently enlarged and palpable, and spread to the lung via the heanatogenous? route occurs contrary to the, carcinoma. The lymphoma of the breast may develop more, often in the right breast and occasionally is bilateral. A few cases of the malignant lymphoma of the breast are associated with systemic tumor of the lymphatic systems. The diagnosis of the lymphoma of the breast is established by biopsy, but need more extensive work-up, because there are often mult-iple masses formed and systemic tumors involved. The malignant lymphoma of the breast is sensitive to radiation and tumors have disappeared within a month after radiation therapy.
Recently, curative treatment of the localized lymphoma of the breast by surgical excision or in combination with radiation has been achieved, however, in cases of systemic involvement antic-ancerous agents have been more effective. The prognosis of lymphoma of the breast in cases -without regional or distant metastases is at least slightly more favorable. Recently, we had a patient with malignant lymphoma of the lactating breast, who initially presented with regional and distant metastases.
